Assignments will be graded on accuracy and completion; class time will be given for the majority of assignments.
Any work not completed in class though is expected to be done outside of class and turned in by due date.
In-Class Activities:
Many of the activities and labs are in-class based so if you are going to be gone please make arrangements ahead of time or as soon as you get back. These could include individual or group activities. Many of the activities we do are practice for and in direct correlation to the major projects.
Major Assessments (70% of your overall grade):
There will be no retakes in this course unless specifically stated for that individual assessment.
Tests:
Tests will be closed notes and closed book. Each test will be worth 100 points.
Most test questions will be similar to homework problems, class examples, or work explored through class activities.
Projects:
Projects will utilize topics covered in the current and previous chapters. They will either take the place of a chapter test or be in addition to one. Most projects will require a written paper and/ or a creative component. Projects will require both in-class and out-of-class work. Due dates will be given well in advance so projects are expected to be turned in on that day or before even if absent from school on the day the project is due. A rubric will be given for all projects.
Quizzes:
Any quizzes given will be open note unless otherwise stated. They will be worth half a test. The material on the quizzes will be similar to that then seen on the unit test.
